(again) “left wanting” (and yup, another night where I whipped up something
upon realizing the time after playing the Sims2 ;;^^)

He waits for it. Every time they meet he waits for The
Touch—the significant one that sends the psychic spinning into some future
world; the one that makes his blood pound in his ears and makes him deaf and
blind to all the warnings he know should be clear.
At each encounter it happens. On the rare
occasion, more than once. It’s an addiction, a nasty habit he knows he
needs to kick. He’s fallen into a junky’s pattern
wherein each time the dose does less and less... He needs more, he longs for
more.
Any information he can get his hands on is filtered through
other people, he’s never been truly in control. Always
someone else—first his father, now Janus. He doesn’t know why they do
it. He likes power, but he doesn’t particularly care for rush of control at
manipulating every little detail of another person’s life. He’s seen Purdy fall
apart more than once. The way Janus put him back together is ugly and
unfamiliar by any stretch of the imagination.
He waits for the day when he’ll find out the details; when
the psychic will crack and go after him like a madman. Maybe he’ll be dragged
into on of the infamous visions. Maybe he’ll be focused through the sights of a
rifle. Neither would really surprise him at this point. He’d rather live. He wants
to know what it is that the psychic sees. What’s the future like? What is it
that has John Smith so scared that his even his fury is curbed by the fearsome
knowledge of some future world?
The want is with him every day. He wants the knowledge. He wants the power. He wants the vision. And he really wants the blond psychic that stalks him from a distances. For now he has no ideas as for how to get Smith, but his every fantasy is caught up in capturing the man and getting something—anything—more than he has in the past.
